For nearly 40 years, trade has been the constant in my career.
I started in 1986 in traffic and documentation for shipping lines — long before “supply chain” was a phrase anyone used casually. From there came sales, sales management and P&L responsibility across Asia, Mexico, the United States, South America, the Caribbean and Central America, including three years living in Venezuela as country sales director.
In 2001, my wife Nilda and I founded Latin Gate Customs Brokers, built on the same principle we started with: understand trade from every angle, and make it easier for the businesses on the other side of it.
Today my focus is helping our clients meet U.S. Customs and Border Protection requirements and stay ahead of changing import regulations. I would rather they hear about a new requirement from us first than learn about it the hard way.
